I can’t help but be reflective as we close one year and begin another.  The Creekside Community has collaborated nicely this year in developing solutions to accommodate our wonderful growth this year.  We are at a place now where systems are in place and things are running quite smoothly both inside and outside the classroom.  We are excited to continue our efforts in improving the quality of the program that we offer our students.  Recently, the Creekside School Site Council approved a plan for every classroom teacher at Creekside to receive an iPad2.  In addition, a site process will be created to grant six teachers a set of four additional iPads to use directly with students.  The goal of this plan is to develop the staff expertise in the use of this valuable instructional tool as well as exploring the multiple ways that the device can improve student learning.  We will keep the parent community informed of our progress throughout the school year via our weekly e-mail newsletters, Tuesday folders, and my monthly website message.

In addition, we are always looking for ways to develop a kinder and more caring culture amongst our school community as well as establishing pride in being a Creekside Comet.  To aid in these efforts we will be reinstating the Friday Spirit Day. Starting January 6^th, we will ask our students to demonstrate their school pride by wearing spirit wear and/or our school colors (sky/light blue and white) on Fridays.  Our student council will award the classroom with the highest weekly participation with the honor of housing our unofficial mascot “Cosmo.”  This is quite an honor as “Cosmo” is an elusive character that gravitates only towards those classrooms with a high density of school spirit!

Lastly, a huge “Thank-you!” to all of our parents for their support this year.  Your help is greatly appreciated and truly necessary as we work to provide our students with the best educational experience we can offer.
