It is hard to believe that spring has officially arrived!  Our annual Creekside Comet Chase, Multicultural night, and spring conferences are behind us and most recently we celebrated our first ever Creekside Live Auction.  The evening of the auction was a huge success and one that I am sure will become a Creekside yearly tradition.  Thank you to the Comet Fund (especially Dana Patterson, Karen Neff, and numerous parent volunteers) for making this a night to remember.  And great appreciation goes to all of the parents who attended this special event and bid generously to support the great programs at our wonderful school.  The online auction opens on March 20th so there is still time to get involved!
 
Soon we will be enjoying Spring Break (April 9-13), planning for STAR testing (April 30th – May 10th), and before you know it the end of school year activities will begin.  Wow!
 
No matter what time of year it is however, our teachers continue to collaborate closely to design lessons for their students that will support them and engage them at a level that maximizes their learning.  Thanks to our Comet Fund, we now have a total of four portable laptop carts on campus that all of our students can use to enhance their learning experience.  In addition, thanks to our Creekside School Site Council, parent donations, and successful grants, Creekside now has a total inventory of 102 iPads on campus.  Every teacher has been equipped with an iPad and 14 classrooms have been awarded a class set of four iPad’s for student use.  All of the work that we have accomplished this year in placing these valuable tech tools into the hands of the students is outlined in our Creekside Tech Learning Plan.  Scroll down and you will find two links relating to our Tech Learning Plan.  The first link is to a powerpoint that summarizes our plan and includes two special video links of our students using the iPad in the classroom.  The second link is to the full version of our Creekside Tech Learning Plan.  Please note that it is our first draft and it will be reviewed and revised throughout the school year as we are constantly discovering new ways to use the iPad to transform our teaching and support our students and their learning
